Tongkat Ali or Longjack is a green plants (Viridiplantae in Latin) flowering plant, native to the rain forests of Malaysia, Borneo, Thailand, Indonesia and Indochina. This plant, as the name suggests, is red in colour on the root surface. It grows in the forest on the slope area.
Boosts muscle mass, energy and stamina, increases testosterone level, strengthens the erection and increases the sperm count for men. Improves blood circulation, helps reduce hypertension and treats high-blood pressure, tuberculosis, fever, jaundice, diarrhea and dysentery.
How to consume?
- Wash/rinse the root chips with water.
- Soak 2-5g of chipped root in 1 liter of water for 1 hour.
- Boil and cook for 30 minutes - 1 hour.
- Remove the chipped root and drink.
The juice (tea) may be blended with honey or rock sugar to balance off the bitter taste of Tongkat Ali. You may repeat the process, reuse the root chip and juice for another consumption until the bitter taste has subsided.

Pregnant, nursing women and individuals below 16 should not use this supplement.
Do not consume in large quantities in a short period of interval. The standard dosage is considered to be a maximum of 50g of root chips in a day. User should monitor themselves and reduce their dose if these side effects occur. It is better to take smaller amounts in 1 day.
At high dose (15g), Tongkat Ali can cause discomforts, restlessness, facial blushing, nausea (vomiting), increased body temperature and insomnia. Very high doses (more than 50g chips per day) can lead to rapid heartbeat and sweating.
Result may vary depending on gender, age and the rate of metabolism. These side effects may usually subside after a few days. The best way is to consume smaller doses can be consumed until a tolerance is built.
It is important to begin consumption with lower doses (2g). Only to increase dosages if less side effects are noted. Please seek medical attention if symptoms persist.
