The front flip is a matte frosted semi-transparent piece of polycarbonate, which will show your Dot View notifications through. You can also swipe through the flip to answer/reject calls, check the time etc. This part of the case also houses the Dot View sensor, you will be able to see it but is it semi disguised by the Rock logo which is subtly printed on the front.
 
The rear of the case is of solid polycarbonate construction and is covered in a lovely matte polyurethane material which is slightly rubberised to the touch and great at repelling fingerprints or scratches.
 
All cutouts are present for the phones functions, as well as the microphone and ear speaker, so you can answer and us the phone with the flip closed.
 
Please note: the front flip is a flexible material with a state of memory that will loosen with time, so it will take about 1 week of use for the material to loosen up and sit flat on your screen. The spine will loosen the more you use it and this is what prevents it sitting flat right out of the box.
