Significantly reduces fussing

By far, the most common known crying behavior in babies is unsettled and irritable behaviour, known as fussing. Clinical studies show that the Philips AVENT Classic feeding bottle significantly reduces fussing and colic. This was especially true during night-time.

 

Fussing: A clinical study showed that at two weeks of age, babies showed less fussing when using Philips AVENT Classic feeding bottle than babies fed with another leading bottles.

 

Colic: A clinical study showed that at two weeks of age babies fed with Philips AVENT bottle showed a trend to less colic than babies fed with a conventional bottle.

 

Anti-colic system

Feeding bottles, whether angled or straight, require air inside the bottle to replace and compensate for the milk that your baby takes. When your baby suckles and drinks, a vacuum is formed in the bottle causing the teat to collapse, restricting milk flow. When unable to receive milk, a frustrated baby's natural reaction is to suck more vigorously, which in turn increases the amount of air swallowed. Most conventional bottles need air to flow in through the hole in the tip of the teat to remove the vacuum, interrupting the flow and rhythm of sucking.

 

However with the Philips AVENT Special Edition Classic Feeding bottles, the unique skirt on the AVENT teat flexes to allow air into the bottle as your baby feeds to prevent any vacuum build-up.
